New On Our Site: CAD Downloads, Bulk RFQ, and Six Engineering Calculators

Most of the questions we get before a quote aren’t really quote questions. They’re sizing questions, grade questions, coating questions — the kind of thing an engineer would rather work out at their desk than wait on an email to answer.

So we built the answers into the site. Here’s what’s new.

CAD Download Center

If you’ve ever rebuilt a magnet in your CAD package because the supplier only had a PDF catalog page, this one’s for you.

The CAD Download Center generates STEP, STL, and DXF models plus PDF drawings for any size we carry. Drop the solid straight into your assembly, check clearance and stack-up, and keep moving — no request form, no waiting on a drawing from us.

Bulk RFQ — paste your list

Quoting twenty line items used to mean twenty rows in an email, or a spreadsheet attachment that came back with half the sizes misread.

The Bulk RFQ tool takes a BOM or a plain size list, parses it, and turns it into one structured quote request. You confirm what it read before it submits, so nothing gets lost in transcription.

Pairs well with our large-quantity pricing program — fixed-rate pricing for up to a year, credit terms, and blanket orders.

Six engineering calculators

Each of these is its own page — no login, no spreadsheet download.

Tool What it answers
Pull Force Calculator Force and field at any air gap
Magnet Size Selector Required holding force → a stocked part number
Magnet Grade Selector Real maximum temperature for your actual geometry
Temperature Derating Calculator Expected flux loss at working temperature
Magnetic Unit Converter Gauss, tesla, oersted, A/m — in both directions
Halbach Array Visualizer Live interactive field map for array configurations

Two deserve a note. The Magnet Size Selector runs the problem backwards from how most calculators work: you tell it the holding force you need, it tells you which stocked part gets you there. And the Magnet Grade Selector answers a question that trips up most first-time NdFeB users — the maximum operating temperature on a datasheet is not a property of the grade alone, it depends on your geometry and working point. A short, fat magnet survives heat a thin one won’t.

These are sizing aids, not a substitute for FEA or a validated prototype. But they’ll get you to the right family of parts before you send us a drawing.

For deeper work, the advanced Magnet Designer lets you design any magnet, calculate its strength, save the design, and request a quote from it.

The Knowledge Base and technical library

The Knowledge Base now holds 30+ articles across six topic clusters, with an interactive grade selector built in.

Alongside it, the full resources library covers 34 engineering and procurement guides — organized by what you’re actually trying to do:

If you’re starting from scratch, work through Magnets 101 and then Magnets 201. The terminology glossary is there for the moment you’re reading someone else’s datasheet and it assumes you already know what a permeance coefficient is.

New industry pages

Specifying a magnet for a traction motor is not the same problem as specifying one for an implantable device. We’ve expanded from three industry pages to nine:

Why we built this

We’ve been making magnets for over twenty years — ISO 9001, PPAP and IATF support, ten million-plus pieces stocked on both U.S. coasts, same-day handling on orders placed by 2PM EST. What we haven’t always done well is make that knowledge available at 11 p.m. when you’re finishing a design review.

Everything above is free and requires no account.

If there’s a calculation you keep doing by hand or a guide for a vertical we didn’t cover, tell us. That feedback is what produced this list.
