8655 – Alnico 5 Block Magnet – 2″ x 1″ x 3/8″(A)

SKU 8655 is an Alnico 5 block magnet measuring 2 inches × 1 inch × 3/8 inch. The rectangular geometry makes it useful for fixtures, instruments, magnetic circuits and assemblies where Alnico’s temperature stability and high residual induction are more important than achieving the highest force from the smallest volume.

Alnico provides excellent temperature stability but has lower coercivity than NdFeB, SmCo and ferrite. In open-circuit applications, magnet proportions and the surrounding steel path should be reviewed so the operating point remains safely away from demagnetizing conditions.
