Design Notes

Axial magnetization places the poles on the 4.5 mm circular faces. The listed surface field is 3,607.07 gauss, with a listed pull force of 0.93 lb under the stated test conditions. Do not expose this standard-grade neodymium magnet to temperatures above 80°C (176°F).

This small metric disk can be considered for compact closures, fixtures and magnetic sensing assemblies after checking the required field and spacing. Gold plating identifies the supplied finish; select it against the actual contact materials and environment, and avoid scratching the coating when positioning the disk.

Check the complete assembly at the intended air gap and loading direction. Listed pull force is a comparison value, not a safe working load; target steel thickness, contact area and surface condition affect actual holding force. Provide clearance in the housing and protect the brittle magnet from impact during installation.

Compare magnetic strength and temperature classes in our neodymium grades chart. Explore gap effects using the pull-force calculator, or send your drawing, operating conditions and volume through the Magnet RFQ Builder.
