N35 neodymium rod magnet, 3/8 inch diameter × 1.5 inches long, with Ni-Cu-Ni plating and axial magnetization. Listed pull force: 42.33 lb. SKU 8440.

Axial magnetization runs along the rod length, placing the poles on its circular end faces. The cylindrical profile can be evaluated for locating, sensing and fixture assemblies where length and pole orientation meet the design requirements.

Design and mounting guidance

Support the rod in its housing and avoid bending or an interference fit. Check bore clearance and dimensional tolerance before assembly. Control attraction to steel and other magnets during handling, and verify the field at the actual sensing location if used with a magnetic sensor.

Listed pull force is a comparison value rather than a safe working load. Target steel thickness, air gaps, surface condition and loading direction affect actual retention. Test the complete assembly under its intended conditions before production.

The listed maximum magnet temperature is 80°C. Allowable operation depends on the magnetic circuit, opposing fields and required performance. Check adhesives and housing materials against their own limits, and protect the magnet and coating from impact during installation.

Compare the neodymium grades chart, review the temperature derating calculator, or browse related magnet sizes. Submit drawings, operating conditions and quantities through the Magnet RFQ Builder.
