Design Notes

Axial magnetization places the poles on the 1/4-inch circular faces. The listed surface field is 3,779 gauss, with a listed pull force of 2.54 lb under the stated test conditions. Do not expose this standard-temperature neodymium magnet to temperatures above 80°C (176°F).

The epoxy finish provides a coated surface for designs where coating choice matters. Avoid scraping or chipping the coating during installation, and validate exposure to moisture or chemicals in the intended assembly. This small disk can be considered for compact fixtures, closures or sensing assemblies after checking the required field and clearance.

The listed 2.54 lb pull is a comparison value rather than a safe working load. Gaps, target steel thickness, contact area and loading direction affect actual holding force. Provide clearance instead of forcing this brittle magnet into an interference fit, and verify performance in the assembled device.

Compare magnetic strength and temperature classes in our neodymium grades chart. Explore gap effects using the pull-force calculator, or send your drawing, operating conditions and volume through the Magnet RFQ Builder.
