N35 neodymium sensor magnet, 3 mm diameter × 2.5 mm thick, Ni-Cu-Ni plated and diametrically magnetized. Listed as 100% sorted with a maximum 3° angle deviation. SKU 9098.

The small cylindrical magnet can be evaluated for compact position and rotary sensing assemblies. Diametric magnetization places opposite poles on opposing sides of the curved surface, so orientation within the assembly is a key selection factor.

Design and assembly guidance

The listed sorting limit of 3° is a magnet specification, not a complete system accuracy rating. Verify the sensor location, working gap and mechanical alignment with the chosen sensor. Evaluate the field at that location rather than relying on a surface field value as the field throughout the assembly.

The listed maximum magnet temperature is 80°C. Allowable operation depends on the magnetic circuit, opposing fields and required performance. Validate the complete assembly at its intended temperature and check adhesives and housing materials against their own limits.

Protect the brittle magnet and plated surface during handling. Provide clearance instead of forcing an interference fit. Listed pull force is a comparison value rather than a safe working load; air gaps, target steel and load direction affect actual retention.

Review the neodymium grades chart, explore thermal effects with the temperature derating calculator, or compare related magnet sizes. Send your drawing, operating conditions and quantities through the Magnet RFQ Builder.
