Introducing Three New Tools Built to Make Magnet Sourcing Easier

At Radial Magnets, we know that finding the right magnet is not always as simple as choosing a size and placing an order. Material grade, coating, operating temperature, magnetization direction, pull force, surface field, tolerance, and application conditions all matter.

That is why we are excited to announce the rollout of three new online tools designed to help engineers, buyers, product designers, and sourcing teams move faster with more confidence:

The Magnet Configurator
Maggie, our AI-Assisted Magnet Search Companion
The Radial Magnets Knowledge Base

Together, these tools make it easier to design a magnet, search our inventory, understand technical requirements, and start the quoting process.

1. Magnet Configurator: Design, Estimate, Compare, and Quote

Our new Magnet Configurator gives customers a faster way to build a magnet specification online.

Instead of going back and forth over drawings, dimensions, material options, and application details, users can now enter the key information directly into the configurator and receive an instant planning estimate.

With the Magnet Configurator, you can:

  • Select the magnet shape
  • Choose the magnetization direction
  • Enter dimensions in millimeters or inches
  • Select tolerance levels
  • Choose material type, including neodymium, samarium cobalt, ferrite, and alnico
  • Select grade and coating
  • Enter order quantity
  • Account for application conditions such as air gap and steel thickness
  • View estimated pull force
  • View surface field information
  • Save a design
  • Generate a shareable configuration link
  • Compare multiple magnet designs side by side
  • Export a drawing or printable spec sheet
  • Send the configuration directly to our team for a formal quote

The tool is especially helpful for early-stage design work, RFQ preparation, and comparing trade-offs between materials, coatings, dimensions, and holding force.

While the pull force and surface field values are planning estimates, they give customers a faster starting point before our team confirms exact specifications, pricing, and lead time.

2. Meet Maggie: Your AI-Assisted Magnet Search Companion

We are also excited to introduce Maggie, our AI-assisted magnet search companion.

Maggie is built directly into the Radial Magnets website and is designed to help customers find magnets through a more natural search experience. Instead of only searching by exact product category or part number, customers can ask Maggie for help using everyday language.

Maggie can assist with searches based on:

  • Shape
  • Dimensions
  • Grade
  • Part number
  • Application
  • General magnet requirements

For example, a customer looking for a small neodymium disc magnet, a ring magnet for a sensor application, or a specific Radial Magnets part number can use Maggie to help narrow down the search.

Maggie is currently in beta, so users may occasionally see unusual responses or errors as the tool continues to improve. Our sales team is still available for direct support, but Maggie gives customers another fast and convenient way to begin the search process.

3. Radial Magnets Knowledge Base: A Technical Resource for Magnet Buyers and Engineers

The new Radial Magnets Knowledge Base was created to help customers better understand the technical side of permanent magnets.

Whether you are new to magnets or working through a detailed engineering requirement, the Knowledge Base gives you a central place to learn about materials, magnet properties, coatings, shapes, applications, procurement requirements, and common terminology.

The Knowledge Base currently includes more than 30 articles organized into seven topic clusters:

  • Magnet Fundamentals
  • Magnet Materials
  • Shapes & Orientations
  • Coatings & Protection
  • Applications Library
  • Engineering & Procurement
  • Glossary A–Z

Topics include permanent magnet basics, neodymium magnets, samarium cobalt, alnico, ferrite, magnetization directions, coating selection, temperature grades, RFQ preparation, PPAP requirements, magnet safety, and rare earth supply chain considerations.

The glossary also includes definitions for more than 50 commonly used magnet terms, making it a useful reference for engineers, purchasing teams, and anyone reviewing magnet drawings or datasheets.

Built for a Better Customer Experience

These three tools were developed with one goal in mind: to make magnet sourcing easier.

Customers can now research technical topics in the Knowledge Base, use Maggie to search for existing products, and use the Magnet Configurator to develop a custom specification or prepare a quote request.

Together, these tools help reduce confusion, speed up communication, and give customers a better starting point before speaking with our team.

At Radial Magnets, we believe that better information leads to better magnet decisions. These new tools are part of our ongoing commitment to helping customers find the right magnet for the right application.
