N52 neodymium block magnet, 1.5 × 1/4 × 1/4 inch, with Ni-Cu-Ni plating and through-thickness magnetization. Listed pull force: 18.67 lb. Listed maximum temperature: 60°C. SKU 9168.

The long rectangular shape can be considered for fixtures, closures and retention assemblies where a narrow bar fits the available space. The poles are on the opposing 1.5 × 1/4-inch faces across the specified thickness.

Design and assembly guidance

Check the dimensional tolerance against the mounting pocket and support the long block during installation. Avoid bending or allowing it to snap into another magnet. Include housing walls, adhesive layers and other clearances in the working gap when evaluating the required holding force.

The listed maximum magnet temperature is 60°C. Allowable operation depends on the magnetic circuit, opposing fields and required performance. Validate the complete assembly at its intended temperature and check adhesives and housing materials against their own limits.

Protect the brittle magnet and plated surface during handling. Provide clearance instead of forcing an interference fit. Listed pull force is a comparison value rather than a safe working load; air gaps, target steel and load direction affect actual retention.

Review the neodymium grades chart, explore thermal effects with the temperature derating calculator, or compare related magnet sizes. Send your drawing, operating conditions and quantities through the Magnet RFQ Builder.
